I'm looking for info from anyone who has/does shoot the .50 Hornady Great Plains bullet over Prodex RS in a 24" Hawken or similar (1:48).

Have you choreographed it, and if so what kind of velocities are you getting?

I'm not sure one could choreograph a bullet in flight. But there is a dancing bullet app for Android devices.

Come on, guys, he is being victimized by a spellcheck that reads choreograph for chronograph.

Any road, surely somebody in the OP's area has a chronograph he can use to get a real reading on real loads in his own rifle.

It was in fact a smellcheck/autodefect error, but I don't mind. All work and no play makes TFL a dull site.

Oh, but it's a 28" barrel though.

Triple 7 ffg and a Hornady Great Plains 54 cal produced 1465 fps over a chrony out of a Hawkin. Son took a nice 6x6 bull elk at around 80 yards with a single round. Sorry I have no info on powder charge, it was 12 years ago. My notes only gave the velocity.
