Putting Square butt grips on a round butt gun

I am not all that know familiar with grips, ect. If I have a Smith (for example) that has round butt grips on it, is it possible to convert to square butt grips? Probably a stupid question, but any help is appreciated.

I like rubber grips as my hands slip on wood so I use Hogue Monogrips. These turn the round grip into a square. I did put round grip Hogue rubber on my K-frame, though.
