Putting a Weaver 63b scope base on Henry Lever Action

I would think that, if there were any overhang, it would need to go in the front. Which henry do you have, or rather, what cartridge? When I had mine I used the EGW mount. worked beautifully.

Bing shows photos of the base on a Henry rifle, with the base overhang to the front of the action. Generally speaking, putting the multiple holes to the front allows mounting on different length actions.

The mount is made for Marlins, does work on some Henrys. Lay the base on top of the action, and see which holes line up with the mounting holes in the action. You want the base overhang at the front, not the rear of the action.

I had a gunsmith install a scope on my Henry 30/30 (I wanted to use his gun range so I had him do the install)

He was saying the pre-drilled hole for a scope were the same as you'd see on a Winchester 30/30

I used see thru scope mounts so I could soot using the scope of the manual sites.
