Problem with a Savage 340.

So my dad has an old Savage 340 in .222 and it appears to be in good condition. Well the problem is that after firing a couple of rounds the extractor spring starts coming loose from the blot and getting lodged between the bolt and the bolt housing. After the first time this happened he ordered a new extractor and spring from savage and replaced the old ones. We thought the problem might be ammo because the ammo he has is fairly old but the same thing happened with new ammo and new parts. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the cause and/or solution for this is?

ive had that problem with a savage MKII .22lr, sent the bolt to savage and they fixed it, problem went away, ive never had a problem w/ my 340 .222, so i suggest sending it to savage and seeing if they can fix it.
