Problem converting Springfield to Nelson?

I am planning on getting a Nelson 22 conversion, and I have a Springfield Tactical with the godforsaken lock on it, and it also has
the laser grip, which should not be a problem to remove, but I
thought it wise to see if anyone had issues using the Springfield
tactical in a conversion such as Nelson or Marvel.

You're talking about a Springfield Armory 1911 with the internal safety lock in the mainspring housing? That's easy -- log onto Brownell's web site and order a standard mainspring housing, a 23-pound mainspring, a mainspring cap, a MSH retained, and a mainspring cap retainer. Just set the OEM MSH aside as a complete assembly and never look back.
