Power Pistol and Lead Bullets

Can Power Pistol powder be used with lead bullets, particularly .357 Mag 158 gr. SWC or .44 Mag 240 Gr. SWC? I've used it with jacketed bullets in 9mm and .357 but haven't come across it with lead bullets. I am assuming that if its not listed in the Alliant website then I shouldn't use it with lead.

SAFE

I have not had good accuracy in revolvers using PP, but you try.

Reduce charge weight some, and work up slow.

I agree, I have recently used some powders that don't list charges for lead bullets in .357. I started at the minimum and worked my way up to a load I liked,i.e. one that didn't lead my barrel like crazy.

Weshoot2,

Why do you think that Power Pistol is not as accurate in revolvers? Is it something to do with its burn rate?

NOT SURE

Haven't spent much time trying PP, spend more time trying Universal Clays.

Shape and volume of available combustion area..........

For some reason, PP worked very poorly for me in revolvers, giving incomplete burns using LSWs, even with tight crimps. Like AA#7 and blue dot, it seems to work better in high pressure autopistol cartridges.
