Powdercoated in Garand?

Anyone brave enough to go full power loads with powdercoated lead?

I tried some underpowered loads running 1900fps but got sketched going any higher. It's the 155gr Lee mold BTW.

Powder coated bullets are just painted cast bullets. You cannot load cast bullets to the same velocities as jacketed bullets. Causes leading. Even with a painted bullet.
Your rifle cycle at 1900 FPS? Just curious.

Not paint, but polymer, and its tough stuff at that when a quality product is used and applied correctly. Over on Cast Boolits web site guys are getting 2500 fps with cast coated bullets. Correct alloy, hardness and fit are still crucial at those speeds but it is doable.

1900fps definitely cycled, accuracy wasn't all that. If I can do around 2300fps or so I'd be happy.

2500 fps isn't a jacketed load. Don't have my old Lyman book here to look. All of the cast loads use stuff like 2400 and other assorted shotgun and pistol powders. Nearly always with a gas check too.
Swiped, er, found this on Cast Boolits that is exactly out of the same Lyman book I have. Some of the powders are gone now.

Chris I think your best results in the accuracy dept will be to go long and heavy on the bullet side and sacrifice a little velocity.
