Powder recomendations for hot 38's

I just ordered Some soft 158gr LSWC HP bullets,There the same ones buffalow bore uses and Im looking to get them to 900-1000fps.in a 2" snubbie with as low a flash as possible,These are gass checked bullets,any recomendations? I was thinking mabe power pistol.

I haven't shot it in .38 Special, but Power Pistol gives a LOT of flash in 9mm.

I like Blue Dot in a 38 with a 158gr bullet. I use 8.4grs for around 950fps in a 4" barrel.

Its funny that I found this because I was just reading an old G&A annual and they did a powder brightness test. The lowest flash handload they found in a 38 was the same 8.4gr load. The said it has a nice cool orange color that did not blind you.

That was with a 4" barreled gun. Any 2" gun is going to have some flash.

My snubby load is 5.3grs winchester 231 for 870fps from a taurus 85 with a speer 158 swchp.
