Powder cross referance

Im looking for a cross referance to compair IMR 4895 to any other powders, can it be done? will the charge be the same? its going to be used out of a custom 219 zipper bolt gun. new bbl, action.

what do you mean by comparing other powders to IMR-4895? there are burn rate charts in most loading manuals but that does NOT mean you can use the same charge weight with the other powders

I think that's what he means. Compare the burn rate and such, to make it faster to build to a load with a different powder.

All of the 219 Zippers that I've worked with over the years have produced both better accuracy and velocity with a slightly slower powder than IMR 4895. But worth your consideration is that the shortest barrel that I've used with this cartridge has been 26", most have been 28" barrels.

I'd recommend starting with IMR 4320, or something with a similar burn rate.

Varget is close. Also H-4895, Reloader 12
Trying looking at the powder company's websites online:
www.hodgdon.com www.alliantpowder.com They may have data for the 219, though it's getting harder to find.
