Possible for more than one person to own a gun?

Anyone ever contemplated the legal possibilities of dual ownership of a firearm? Is this possible? The question struck me the other day in re: one of our "car" guns (the sentiments on "car" guns aside). Both owners have CCW permits and both cars usually have a car gun in them when being used. Is specific ownership of the firearm ever an issue in case you are asked? I mean, you can have multiple owners of a car, or a house, or a boat, or any other myriad of things that must be registered, titled, etc. The BATF form seems to imply only one owner. Some localities even require registration (NY, DC, Kali assault weapons), which probably restricts ownership to one person. Are firearms prohibited from joint ownership?

If you are married, stuff is usually both of yours, so legally I would say yes.
