Has anyone had their pistol re-finished with Black-T, Robar, Gunkote, etc.? How is the durability? Do you need to have your gun broken in before getting it re-finished?

Thanks

Have had several guns and slides done in Robar NP3 finish. Looks great and seems to hold up well. The color is sort of a dull stainless in appearance.

My idea would be to break in the gun first before coating it with anything. Cause if it has to be sent back u/w, they might not like the coating for warranty problems ie not cycling correctly etc. Make sure it works first then coat it...HS

I'll second the NP3. I have an Officer's and a Commander in NP3. It's held up real well, considering these are daily carry guns. However, as Mac pointed out, it's susceptible to a bit of flaking at the mating surfaces.

Has any one had the Roguard finish applied to their guns? I am thinking about it for my AR-15. Give it a darker look while slicking it up at the same time.
