piccatinny rail for Remington 700

Can anyone recommend a piccatinny rail scope mount/base for a Remington 700 short action? They vary in price and I was wondering if they are all the same or does one brand stand out?

www.brownells.com carries a selection of mounts for your 700. There are different types that you need to consider or eliminate. Do you need a base for long range shooting? One tough enough for all tactical purposes? You need to know your application for the base then pick one that fits the purpose.

Warne rails

I have had good luck with Warne products. Have mounted 2 rails on Rem 700 and the rails have been great fits. I also have a Badger rail. I am not sure I could tell the difference without looks are the label.

I know there are several other makers arounds, but what is the difference? Good question. I see the difference between Weaver and Warne, but not the Warne and the Badger.
