Picatiny mounting screws

I noticed my scope was loose on my Savage 10. My EGW rail was loose from the receiver. No big deal but one screw was missing, Where might I find some tapered screws? They are only 1/4 inch long.

Just about any gunsmith will have those screws on a shelf.

They are no tapered, simply machine screws in a fine thread.

Brownells will have them for sure.

I've been using and selling torx style screws for several years now for optics bases and scope rings. Finger tight and you don't need to worry about the myriad of goofy "torque ratings" that some profess. These are little screws and they don't take kindly to being twisted until their heads come off. Finger tight is GOOD enough!
