Peters .22s

The local sporting goods store (Garts) has just started stocking
bulk pack Peters .22lr. It's really cheap, $7.70/500. Anyone shot
any of this stuff? We've beaten the Federal/Remington/CCI comparisons
to death around here.

I've shot many boxes of Peters , with my Ruger 22 . It's decent ammo . But the only downside imo is it's Lead , so it dirtys the gun up alot . Personally i would go with Remington .

I've found it to be very good .22 ammo.

Remington bought Peters decades ago, and used to serve up ammo in the Remington-Peters line.

They've apparently decided to reintroduce an historic brand name as an "alternative line" for ammo.

Not uncommon. Remington brought back the UMC brand some years ago in the yellow box ammo. Remington purchased UMC around 1905, IIRC.

Thought so. You're right about Peters and UMC.
I couldn't see Remington selling off the "Peters" name.
