An Amish man was awakened one night by an intruder in his home.
Taking the shotgun with him, he went to the stairs only to encounter the thief coming up the stairs.
"STOP!" he shouted as he took aim.
The thief stopped where he was, but said ernestly, "It's against your religion to kill a fellow human being!"
" 'Tis true," responded the Amish man. "But, thou standest where I am about to shoot!"
