I was watching the ShootingUSA TV show. The shooting tips portion had Sherri Gallagher talking about reading the wind.
I'm not addressing that portion, (though she was right on based on my experience) but I want to address Follow Through and Position.
Watch her shoot. Perfect prone position, perfect cheek weld, prefect follow through. Recoil moves her of course (she ain't very big) but her head doesn't come off the stock, he position doesn't change, she falls back to her position, and NPI. Watch her eyes, both eyes wide open, she doesn't even blink.
Notice he uses the Cocked Leg prone position, even shooting from a bipod. I get in a lot of arguments with precession rifle shooters who say the "both legs stretched out behind you" style.
Cocking your leg takes pressure off the diaphragm making breathing easier. Miss Gallagher doesn't seem to have the problem a lot of us old guys have, but the cocked leg also takes pressure off our beer and fried chicken we have stored up.
This young lady is one exceptional shooter. Watch her if you can.
