Pen Gun

That is the Stinger pen gun. They quit making them about 5 years ago and the are pretty hard to find these days. The nice thing about the Stinger is that since you have to fold it in half to fire it, ATF considers it to be a standard handgun and you don't need any NFA paperwork to own one.

The downside is that many states specifically prohibit pen-guns in their statutes. Look under any dangerous weapons statutes or under concealed firearm statutes any usually you'll find penguns (not penguins) listed with cane-guns and sword-canes, brass knuckles, saps and blackjacks.

Pity. They can be good defensive weapons that are readily accessible where a pistol or revolver is harder to reach.

I was curious how much these things went for and I looked on GA, they actually have 3 posted on there for sale between $1300-1500

this pen gun was made by american derringer, later by stinger
blue book is like 250$
this is legal because it has to change to pistol mode to be fired
pen guns that stay straight are illegal
