Been shopping for a 'Commander' size 1911 and am leaning towards the Para. I had an original P14 that was flawless, reliable, accurate, etc., gifted it to one of my officers that got deployed to Iraq, so I already have experience with and like Para.

Anyone have one or have experience with the LTC? I've shot a Kimber, Colt, Smith, and an STI. This will be for ccw and for the nightstand. Any help will be appreciated.

No experience with the GI Expert LTC, but I have a full-size GI Expert that has been flawless. If I were in the market for a Commander-size 1911 I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Para.

I looked at one in 9mm. Not too bad. For roughly the same money, you can now get and STI Spartan IV (commander size) in either .45 or 9mm, though it's got a bull barrel, rather than the Para's regular set up, FWIW.
