OT: Fake Jewelry

But I wanna reply, Art... :D

I've seen this on other discussion boards also. It's a big problem and even more widespread than what's said in this article. Follow Art's advice and do the magnet test on anything marked sterling silver. This is now the norm. The exception is finding true sterling silver. Copper is the metal used as an alloy in sterling silver, it isn't magnetic either. BTW about silver... get some! :D

Edited to fix my dyslexic typing.

If true, there will be a class-action lawsuit or lawsuits for fraud, as there should be. Course, if the wife doesn't put a magnet to it, you're still in the clear.

I test silver this way, too. Anybody trying or actually selling me fake stuff will end up eating it, one way or another;)
