Opinions? TR20-2G 3-9x40 Riflescope, Mil-Dot Crosshair with Green Dot on a 700?

Hey guys,

I have a 20 inch youth 700 in 308 coming. I want to set it up as sort of a "Mountain rifle/handy precision rifle." However, I like the idea of having ranging capability and would like to familiarize myself with mil-dots, etc. Any suggestions? Any reason why this would not be a good scope for me?

Trijicon makes a fine scope. Personally I have a 2.5-10x42 IOR SSG on my 270 win hunting rifle, and it does everything you want to do with your 308. Enough magnification for long shots, crank it down for rapid target acquisition.

It's a chunk of change to spend on a scope, but you'll be happy with it.

I'm 90% sure I'll be putting the TR20G-2G on my CZ 550 American in 6.5x55SE for my AZ bull elk hunt this year. I think it's going to be outstanding in dim canyons or on a drizzling, overcast day. I was actually thinking the BAC reticle would be better for this hunt, but I will appreciate the mil-dot scope more over the course of the year for pred-hunting and target shooting.
