Opinions on Steyr Scout?

I've fired them before but didn't really have much interest in them. I've read of some durability issues with them, but I'd like to hear if its been fixed.

Hi, Jamie. Long time no see.

The Steyr is way too pricey for me. I can't figure out what that $1700 price tag gets you that can't be duplicated by another rifle at under half the price. Hated the lines of the fore-stock too.

I liked the concept of a short, light, .308 rifle with forward mounted optics, but bought a Ruger Frontier instead. It's worked out pretty well for me so far. http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230099
