Ok as I have said a thousand times I just got a neat little Mauser rifle. 96 Mauser, 6.5x55, barrel cut to 20", What I believe is a Fajen laminated thumbhole stock, and a Freelands metal adjustable butt plate.
After seeing a Kimber sporterized mauser at the gun show I thought about...
putting a Leupold quick detachable scope mount and a 4-12 Nikon Monarch to use with the fajen stock for varmints etc., and then getting a lightweight synthetic stock and another lighter scope (2-7 or a fixed 4/6) for deer hunting.
What are your thoughts on this idea???
