It looks like a variation of the belly band type holster, holding the gun in the small of the back. I don't care for S.O.B. carry because of the potential harm to the spine. Belly band holsters in and of themselves work very well for some folks.
No, and I don't think it would work for me. In addition to what blades67 said about SOB carry, I can't be certain that I could always successfully draw from that position. I'd be worried about dropping the gun!
