Omega rail cover install question

Hey, i just installed my omega carbine rail on my AR and i got to say its sweet, well worth the money. But i now have a slight problem, the rail cover's that come with it seem to be a little long for the carbine, are they supposed to be over size? so i can cut them to fit? and how do i get them on the rail as they seem to be extremely hard to get over the rail, any special method.

I have a DDm4V2, and it comes with the Omega 7.0 rail. The covers are long, so they do need to be trimmed.
And to get them on, I just start at one end, and press them on. They will go, ya just have to muscle them a bit.
