Olympic Arms AR-15

There was a recent thread here saying that some of the older OA rifles or just the lowers may have much higher value because they are "pre-ban".

I have an old Olympic Arms Mod. CAR-AR with heavy 16" barrel that has been 100% reliable from day one.

It has a 4 digit serial number... AA 2xxx.

It was purchased used so I have no idea what its age is.

Do these have "extra value" due to being "pre-ban"?

It depends on who you're talking to. In a ban state, yes they are worth more. In a free state many of us would rather have a new AR. You should research the SN with Olympic and see when it was made. Or maybe someone here will know. No doubt if you sold it to someone in a ban state they would want concrete proof of its vintage.

Pre bans are definitely worth more here in New York State and any other state that has a ban on magazine capacity, collapsible stock flash hider, etc..
