Older Carbon 15 Stock Question

I have an older Bushmaster Carbon 15 that has been sitting around. I have decided to spruce it up and use it as a truck gun. It has a takedown lever on the back of the lower on the left side that is used to remove the buttstock. I have never seen a takedown lever like this on an AR before. The buttstock on this thing is pitiful. I was wondering if you can use any other stock on this model. I would really like to put one of the skeletonized stocks on it or a collapsable one.
Thanks

It is in .223 but was before they had a forward assist and normal AR 15 stocks. I can't figure out how to post a pic from the manual online but it is definitely different than a regular AR. I guess I can take a stock off of one of my regular ARs and see if it fits. I honestly don't know a whole lot about them though.

This is the model if it helps

The R97S buttstock is 10-1/4" long with a length of pull of 13-1/4".
The only other interchangeable buttstock we have is the Youth stock # AZ15279 for $26.50 that is 8-1/4" long with a length of pull of 11-1/4".

The Carbon 15 Model 21, 97 and 97S rifles will accept the AR15 type stocks. There is no provision for a buffer retainer. The rear of the receiver needs to be modified so the dimple in the adaptor plate of the telestock will fit. Loctite is recommended on the locking ring for the installation. With # 242 Loctite on the threads for the nut, not the receiver, turn the nut on until it is snug. When an AR15 type stock is used on a Carbon 15 the longer AR15 type bolt carrier with key part number 8448505-M4 for $92.50 must be used with that buffer system.

Best info I could find.

Jim

Good luck and stay safe.
