I'm just posting the pictures,
all I know is it's a Mark-X and Hooligan1 had a blank duplicated and he did the final fit and finish of the stock.

Great job my friend!

Mark X .270

This is the rifle I got back from a friend whom I traded it to in 1993.
He took it on an Elk hunt to Colorado at some point, and it snowed on him and his equipment all the way back home here in Missouri and it freckled the old girl somewhat.
I sent it off to bluing Smith here local, so no freckles left.
I didn't want to leave the rifle in the original Bell and Carlson synthetic I ordered for it when I first purchased the action in 1991.
It's chambered in .270 and has an adjustable trigger which was an option from Zastava at the time.
I ordered the blank from Dressels.com and it was then sent to Benjamin Piper of Soroka Rifles USA to have it duplicated and inletted in a Holland and Holland style.
It took a few months of working on it everyday to finally get it where it was pleasing to myself and so here it is.

Nice look'n shoot'n stick ya got thar!! Lol

The Mark X is a Whitworth. They came in 270 Win, along with other chamberings. Come stock with an adjustable trigger.
The wood stocks on the harder recoiling chamberings were known to split at the wrist.
They were imported into the US by Interarms.

I bought the Interarms Whitworth in 270 Win. $250.
Stock was really not in good shape. Put a Bell & Carlson synthetic stock on it. E.R. Shaw 1.5 contour 24" barrel in 284 Win. EGW 20 MOA solid base. Vortex Viper 30mm low rings. Sightron S-TAC 4-20X50 scope.
Shoots wonderfully! Just wish my finished weight wasn't 10 lbs!!!

Not all Zastava Mark X's were Whitworth, only the ones sent to England and went through their inspection and made it were deemed Whitworth.
I wish it was a Whitworth but it's not, at the time I ordered it, the adjustable trigger was an option that I wanted vs. the standard.

A beaut! My dad had a Mod 70 270 while I had one 30-06 growing up. Still have mine but sadly, he sold his off when I was in the Army.

Rings and bases ordered.

At first I couldn't make up my mind whether to use the ones I had on it previously or do better.
Today I ordered SnK sculptured bases and rings in Matte finish, they should really go good with the glass Taylorce1 sent me to use on it.
I want to say a Big Thank You to Taylorce1 for or the scope and all the help and motivation he sent me through this time period..

Hooligan1, I used to think I was pretty good with a stock refinish, but I’m not in your league. That’s a beautiful job. Truly beautiful.
