Beware of shooting soft lead reloads for weeks at a time without proper cleaning of the lead from the barrel. When we first started out most of our .38 Specials looked like smooth bores after a few sessions with cheap lead SWC's.
Plus if you follow that with high pressure jacketed .357 rounds you may get some very unpleasant results.

Yeah, you literally need to "get the lead out" after a diet of 38 spl. lead bullets. They will leave a lead ring in the barrel/forcing cone and this will disrupt the accuracy of jacketed 357 bullets if you don't do a GREAT job of cleaning in between. Your gun won't blow up or anything but you might have trouble just getting the longer case in the cylinder also.

If you shoot a lot of .38's through that .357 handgun, you'll also likely find a buildup of fouling in the chambers, too. This won't damage the revolver, but it will make it difficult to chamber the longer .357 cartridges unless you clean the chambers well.
