Dave, . . . Yahoo said:

"pistol: NOUN: A firearm designed to be held and fired with one hand.

Ain't seen too many two handed revolvers, . . . though I do shoot my super Red Hawk that way.
May God bless,

Pistols are handguns with a chamber integral to the barrel... be they single shots or self-loaders.

Revolvers are handguns with several revolving chambers, which align independently with the barrel.

YMMV

If you had read the thread all the way through to the end, you'd find that myself and other posters, after many hours of research into etymology and linguistics, have determined that a revolver, defined by both the BATFE and the NRA, are classified as Pistols. I was at the range tonight and asked the RO, (an ex-Army Ranger, ex-NYPD Detective and friend of the family) the same question...his response was, "Of course it is, dumbass."

So there you go. "Of course it is, dumbass" :)

If you live in Florida, by all means, take a re-vote. The end result will not change.
