OK, Narrowed the field...

I have decided that I am extremely interested in the SIG P226 line in 40cal, especially the Elite and the SCT. Does anyone own one or both that may give an honest endorsement? With the cost of these things, I can only get one or the other.

I own neither, but...

Are you married to the idea of the 40 S&W chambering? Because I would instead recommend most highly, if you insist on a SIG P226, finding one chambered for the 9x19.

It will cost less to shoot.
It will last longer.

I have a SiG P229 Stainless Elite and a P229 DAK.

I have all 3 barrels for them - .40S&W, .357SiG and 9mm.

A 9mm P229 is like a 4 cylinder corvette...senseless...

The .357SiG shoots like a laser out of a P229.

Personally, I prefer a Glock 22 or 3rd Generation compact Smith & Wesson when it comes to shotting .40S&W.
