Oddball repro

Anybody seen this mark on a repro 58 before? It was made in 76 and it's not mine. It doesn't look anything like any ASP mark I've seen but that's the way I'm leaning.

Almost looks like it was done after blueing, so could it be a vendor stamp?

Just a guess, but is it DG for Dixie Gunworks?

I guess it's possible but methinks Dixie would be DGW and there's no other makers mark on it. ASP is either DGG in a circle or a D with the two G's stacked.

Thinking about it I Agree , it makes sense .
Even a "personalized " gun would still have a Makers mark.
The mystery continues,,,,,,,

It does look like the metal was smoothed after the stamped 104 (serial?). Not so with the DG stampings....must have been added later. Initials might be a good guess.

Was it a kit gun?

No, not a kit. All the other markings are there. It has everything except a makers mark. I have found reference to one other but nobody knew anything about it either.
