NY mag law?

Just read on a local blog that NY state passed a magazine restriction of 7 rounds for a firearm. Can any of my fellow NYers verify this ? No Garands in NY state?

So, my 7 round 1911 is legal, but my 8 round Ruger P345 will be outlawed.
As well as everyone's Glocks, etc.

How in the hell can this be enforced?
