 Well done and having lived & worked in Miami-Dade in the 80's it's also a rifle well suited to your AO.

I put this one together several years ago... it's my one and only AKM.

Nice. I've got a Saiga .223 I converted that I really enjoy. Still working on it to finish everything up. Need to thread the muzzle and put a break on it. Before that need a sling and a bipod.

Nice, my Saiga SGL-20 is all Tapco'd out and its served me quite well. How do you like the Hogue forend?

It's 110% better then anything Tapco craps out (except for their triggers; that's good). The handguards are standard AK profile and the kit comes with two top pieces. Railed or non-railed. The accessories rails are easy to put on and off and it's light weight. Also the bottom piece is covered in Hogue's overmold rubber.

I like running my AK simple. Optic is co-witnessed with the factory irons, light to ID things in dark areas, simple VFG for additional points of control even though 9 out of 10 time I use it as a hand stop, and lastly the M4 stock simply so I can use it if wearing a thick coat (or armor if Red Dawn ever happens).

Yeh...I currently have the SAW style pistol grip, side folding stock, quad rail forend, short vertical grip, and G2 trigger. If I could start over again with my AK build I would not get anything Tapco except their G2 trigger, and maybe some of their magazines. Other than those two things I'd get rid of everything else. Sure their stuff works but its just things like the mechanism on the folding stock is terrible and has to be pushed down to both open and close it or else it will break, which is a PITA, the forend took hours of grinding away and fitting to make it work and basically has no vents anymore because I had to file away so much plastic, and i've lost two stoppers (along with two packs of spare scope batteries) that go in the bottom of the vertical grip just from firing a few mags at the range. I will say Tapco does have great customer service and will send you replacements if you say the word, but thats probably because their products cost them next to nothing to manufacture. Oh well, already threw too much money into it.

30 round black Tapco magazines are in stock at Natchez for $9, a decent price. The magazine situation is lots better than it was 4 months ago.

I have a ton of 30rd ComBloc mags. I've had this rifle for a while and just finally got off my arse to.get it right.

Nice! I also have an old ban era WASR but all I've done to it is hacksaw off the muzzle nut then screwed on a Tapco flash hider.

Oh, and bought it lots of surplus magazines and cheap ammo! :D

Mine is simpler than that. It's a Draco. I stained the wood dark brown. I have a red dot for a dust cover mount. I have a drum for it I use sometimes. I need to get a sling for it.

My girlfriend has taken a liking to it and now I'm afraid I'm going to come home to find that nice red wood replaced with pink plastic
