Not the same Condition 1 vs 3 debate.

I watched a program that showed Russian spetsnaz soldiers carrying Makarovs in a holster that allows combat readiness with the gun carried in condition 3. This holster when drawn normally from the top kept the gun in condition 3 (requiring the slide pull loading per regular condition 3 carry), however when needed in a hurry the gun is pushed down through the holster, which engages the slide, loads the gun and cocks the hammer. The gun is ready at the draw the same as condition 1 carry.

What do you think of this method? Are any holster makers here making anything similar in design, if not why not?

Those of you that are fearful of condition 1 carry would you utilize a holster of this design for your guns if it could be made to work?

An earlier attempt at that idea was the old "Seldeen" holster, which worked exactly as you describe. It was targeted at the 1911 crowd back in the mid 1970's.

It would be difficult to get good enough with the holster to make that a reliable means of carry. It's too easy to not get enough force behind the slide to get it back into battery. It would also necessitate a lot more holster than a normal holster would, meaning more bulk to carry.
