Not just another BP book

I know it's late in the game but I just got a copy of;
The Muzzle Loading Cap Lock Rifle by Ned Roberts.
Sure wish I could have discovered it a long time ago. For those of you that are just getting started or any "Old Front Stuffer" you have to go a long way to find a more comprehensive reference. Just started reading mine today and it is fantastic. Sorry but I just had to share this with Y'all ......

It's a terrific book that I had picked up with reluctance (was busy with work and didn't want to read a lengthy tome). The topic was so captivating that I had difficulty putting it down. Ned Roberts teaches you so much in that book. Thumbs up!

BTW, I cited his book numerous times in my own book.

Great book, some priceless info inside. The target rifle sections are kind of dry though. Still a good read.

I recently purchased this book, and think it's the best overall book on muzzleloaders out there. I was somewhat surprised at his recommendation for mixing black and smokeless powders when every other book strongly advises against it.

BTW, I found out that the scoped Springfield riflemusket featured in the book is still around and in good shape.
