I want to get rid of the plastic thumb hole stock I installed on my MAK-90 years ago and replace it with conventional AK wooden furniture.
I'm not sure about the 922r compliance requirements so need advice on what to buy and what will fit it's stamped receiver.
Thanks.

not sure

Hey micro,

I can't tell you exactly about 922r, but the aveage guy can easily tweak a MAK-90 or MISR 90 into a better AK. Its a parts count thing, as you know.

Without studying back up I cannot say for sure, but I'd look at Tapco for handguards (1) butt stock (1) and trigger group (2-3?) and pistol grip (1) for a total of 6 or 7, and that will get you very close without a lot of real gunsmithing.

With a little study you can figure it out, I did when I tweaked a MISR 90.

Here's mine, bought a few weeks ago:

The MAK 90 Sporter is already compliant. Just replace the furniture with good domestic stuff. you'll be fine. Ironwood design makes good stuff for the MAK.

WVfishguy,

That's the exact same stock set I installed on my MAK-90 15 or so years back and is still on it today.

Thanks for the information.
