Nikon reticle substensions

Can anybody advise the substensions on a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x 40mm?

What MOA the fine cross hair from middle to picket would cover.

My internet search yields data on the BDC only, ....I guess I could set a target out at 100 and measure.

You'll have to do the math to convert from 4-16 to 3-9.

Center line thickness .22" to .67" at 100 yds.
Width between heavy lines 7.92" to 23.77.
From 2009.

That agrees really close with my math. I did the conversion from the 4-16x to 3-9 and came up with:

at 3x, at 9x
A=2.50, 0.83
B=0.65, 0.22
C=22.94, 7.65

Seems like it would be easy to test with a white sheet of paper and a ruler.

ruler

Yeah, that'll be the way. sort of

I'll find or draw a 1" grid target, stake it out at 100, and see what I get.

The Nikon came on a rifle, first I've had. The plex on the pro-staff looks tighter than the pic btw.

What I'm trying to do is find a distance / POI for the top of the picket at varioius ranges. Some experimenting will get me some answers.

Thanks guys.
