New to this tactical rifle thing. Little help?

Ok, so I got a good deal on a Remington 700 SPS Tactical and now that I've got this blank slate, I'm a little lost.

Feel free to point me in the right direction. For now the rifle is going to stay factory stock.

I'm thinking piccatinny base, Badger one piece mount, need a good solid starter tactical scope. Under $300 until I grow into the gun. As is, I'm sure it's more accurate than I am right out of the box.

I've been told the only negative to that gun is the stock. When I shot it, it felt flimsy. That being the only common complaint, i'd start there.

I'd say you have the matter in hand. :D

Perhaps something like this?

I don't know how 'tactical' it is, but a Nikon Buckmasters with target turrets and a mil dot reticle seem to fit the 'practical tactical' need and your price spec.
