New shooting rest in my future

Or would you suggest I stay with sand bags for my long range shooting?

Do the forum memebers have a particular brand of shooting rest they're comfortable with or could recommend?

I bought a rabbit-ear bag and filled it with polyethylene resin beads (works as well as sand and weighs about 1/2 as much). Midway has some nice ones.

Works better than a bipod, but obviously not as portable as a bipod. Also better than shooting over a pack. If you have trouble finding polyethylene beads, you can find polysterene beads at hobby stores, but they are not as heavy, so not as steady.

The Caldwell lead sled is the best $100 I ever spent on range gear. It more or less eliminates YOU as the source of the error, so that you can find out what your GUN can do (with good ammo). Very important when you have little skill like myself.

I prefer the Caldwell Tack Driver sandbag. It is good and steady, damps out a lot of my "wiggle".
