new service pistol for the Canadian Armed Forces

does anybody know more about that request for proposals? Are there already any actual contenders or is this just a vague plan by now?

Looks like Canada is more and more locking itself down due to COVID-19. Hard to hold an international pistol selection when you won't let the manufacturer's people into the country.

I just looked into the restrictions, and basically they are not letting in salesmen or weapons demo dudes, unless such have Native tribal status, or Canadian relatives etc. Ordinary "discretionary travel" is a no-go to enter Canada.

So the selection will be on hold for months to come.
