New Savage Rifle

I bought a Savage model 110 in .223 today. I won't get to pick it up till Sunday, 'cause of the Klinton Kommissars of righteousness and fitness in thought, word and deed.

What's the best way to break this barrel in? I've seen threads on this and other boards that opined many points of view - from nothing (Shoot it!!) to extensive cleaning - maybe after every shot.

Would it be a good idea to use a BoreSnake?....or are they too abrasive?

I want to do it right!!

Shoot it!! Clean it every few rounds to start off, but IMHO, I'd just use a cleaning solvent and patches...no brushes. BTW, do a search for Gale McMillan...since I'm a nobody and he was a Somebody.
