new s&w 5'' model 63 half lug

The Model 35 and the earlier guns back to the Beckheart model didn't look bad with 6 inch barrels. I think it is the round butt on the current 5 inch that makes it look a little odd.

Check the price. My pusher has the new 4"/6" 617 at $619, that 63 is $589. It feels good in the hand - but I'd likely sell another pint or two (My wife is younger...) and get a 617. Still, I like the partial lug. It's not like you'll need the extra mass to keep that muzzle down!

I have one of the 5" 63-4. I was very pleasantly surprised how well the trigger smoothed up and how good the accuracy is.
