Hey all,

I inherited some old firearms. Pictured are the S&W .357 Highway Patrolman, Thompson .50 Muzzleloader (light wood) and Springfield 1873 (Dark wood).

Not pictured is a Remington 700 .243 and a Winchester 70 30-06.

I also got a non-firing replica, and I'm hoping the group can help me indentify.
I'll post pics of that one.

Any info on the pictured guns is appreciated as well. Specifically the two long guns.

Thanks all,
Doh

First the Springfield " Trapdoor 45 caliber" if original is presumed to be pre 1884 as it has an early rear sight. The replica rifle is of a Sharps civil war era RIFLE that has a CARBINES saddle ring. If it was an accurate replica it would have been either a model 1859 or more likely model 1863.

The replica could also be a Sharps Model 1874 Military Rifle, which was an updated model designed for cartridge use (.45-70). The picture in the book I have looks pretty much exactly like yours.

(On the other hand, the book I have isn't 100% accurate....I've been able to spot some mistakes)
