For those who haven't already I recommend looking into Larry Correia's writing. His latest Monster Hunters book kicks off at of all places, The SHOT Show. Technically it is at a convention timed to coincide with SHOT and across the street.

Larry's books, both the Monster Humter series and Grimnoir series are great Monster, Magic and shooting fun. Larry has been a gun dealer, competitive shooter and CCW instructor and it shows in his writing. Check out his page here: http://larrycorreia.wordpress.com/

What's not to like with a story where John Moses Browning is not dead and kicks (shoots) butt in a fight against the non-dead?

But anybody know what happened to Nightcrawler? Years back he and Correia wrote some great fiction on, I think it was, the original High Road forum.

And yeah, I've read the actual book, still have it. Not bad. John Ringo's "Ghost" remains the most over-the-top lunatic thing ever written in this kind of "ultra-combat genre". There's an infamous review online of THAT:

I lucked into a signed copy of Monster Hunters, Inc.

Almost made me want a Saiga 12 guage.

I did wonder how normal humans survived before the invention of modern firearms though with the descriptions of vampires ...

I met Larry Correia at a signing on Long Osland last Saturday and can attest he is a cool and graceious dude that really appreciates the shooting community. Mike Kupari is also his best friend and was in Afghanistan when their joint book was published. I got my Monster Hunter Omnibus signed and his publisher sent over free hardcovers of Legion which I got signed. Score!

I devoured all three of the Monster Hunter books over the course of a weekend. The first one gets off to a bit of a shaky start, but from there, it's giddy, gory, and funny stuff.

His work demands that Sam Raimi make it into movies.

At his book signing he related the tale of some Hollywood types tossing actors around for possible movies. They actually threw out Toby McGuire as a possibility for Owen Pitt...

Flim rights for a possible show are owned now by the company responsible for The Walking Dead. Fingers Crossed.

Larry said he envisioned Earl played by Robert Patrick (liquid terminator). He was surprised to hear he actually plays a werewolf on True Blood.
