Picked one of these up about a week ago:

http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Colt_Peacemaker_SAA_CO2_Revolver_Nickel/3568

It weighs 34oz. Balance sits at the front of the trigger guard.
Drops right into my SA leather.
The action functions as a traditional SA. Fake shells weigh about the same as a live .357 round. They fit snugly in .38 shell loops. They are loaded and unloaded in the same manner as many single actions- half cock, lift gate, rotate cylinder.
Trigger breaks on mine around 2.5 lbs. It creeps a bit but is still a fine trigger.
POI is dead on with POA at 10 yards.

Ive tried Avanti Match, Daisy and Crossman BBs. It groups them about the same. Mine groups around 1.5-2" at 10 yards, from a rest.
3-4 shot groupings easily fall within an inch, but flyers are common.
I get about 100-110 shots per 12 gram CO2 cartridge at 55 F.

The finish on it is great for an airgun. The grips are the biggest shortcoming-thin, slick plastic. Its action is smoother than a lower end SA like Heritage. Its no Ruger/Cimaron/Uberti, but far better than I expected.

Its faster and cleaner to reload than wax/primer loads for you quick draw folks.
Its great for teaching young/new shooters.

After around 1000 shots fired, the action seems as tight as the day it came. The grip panel that hides the CO2 has loosened a hair.

I remember seeing a S/A BB gun when I was a kid. Of course I wanted one desperately. I think they were made by Daisey back in the day.

That one looks a lot nice than I remember them.

Congratulations.

Thanks ever so much for this,,,

Thanks ever so much for this,,,
I had given up on finding a SAA in BB or soft-air.

I make the gun-belts for Pistol Pete, my university's mascot.
I've been trying to find an appropriate replica for the ones I market to the alumni.

I see that they are out of stock,,,
But I'll be watching this website closely.

If they really are clones of the 5.5" SAA,,,
I can see myself using these for my products.

Thanks again.

Aarond

P.S. Here is a pair of the Daisy "Spittin' Image" spring powered bb pistols,,,
They are being guarded by my oh-so ferocious kitten named Chu-Toi.

The pistols have been discontinued for many years now,,,
I also own two of the "Spittin' Image" rifles.

Hello g.willikers,,,

Aarond, is it really true that the real Pete actually wore one of your beautiful holsters and belt?

Oh no,,,
Not a word of truth in that.

I make the gun belts for the students who portray the Mascot.

I got both of my saddle-making certification at Ok State Okmulgee,,,
And my B.S. and M.S. degrees at Ok State Stillwater,,,
Now I work at the University full-time..

One of the counselors I work with was Pete back in 87-88,,,
When I mentioned that he probably had a nice souvenir,,,
He told me that the Petes didn't get to keep anything.

So I made him a Pete gun belt & holster to hang on his wall,,,
And to wear at alumni functions.

Then I started making them for the Petes every year,,,
Just so they could take a memento with them.

It takes me a week of hard work,,,
But it's very satisfying labor,,,
And I get bragging rights. ;)

By the way,,,
Thanks for the compliment. :)

Back to the original topic -- that's a neat looking BB gun. Since it doesn't say the barrel is rifled, and it shoots steel BBs, I guess we can assume that it's a smooth bore. How's the accuracy?

Do you know if it will shoot lead BBs? Will it shoot pellets?

Smooth bore bb guns won't generally shoot pellets or lead bbs any better than the steel bbs.
And the steel bbs won't lead up the barrels and ruin accuracy.
A good bb gun, with a properly made barrel and good quality round bbs, are surprisingly accurate.
So there's no need to look any further.

For a revolver with a rifled barrel that shoots skirted pellets very accurately, Crosman makes a very good and inexpensive double action:

Lechiffre is right, The grip is basically a SAA, but it is a tad longer to accommodate the CO2 canister.

You can shove any .177 caliber projectile into the end of the fake shells.
I think pellets will expand the plastic hole in the shell just enough where bbs might fall out if you try to load them after firing pellets.

Barrel is smooth-bore. Accuracy is soda bottles at 25 yards, cans at 15.
On paper it wants to group about an inch at 10 yards if you discount the wide arching flyers.
It shoots well, but round balls from a smoothbore will give you some curving flyers from time to time.

Its real niche for me has been walking and plinking with the dog and wife without worrying about anyone's ears. Those red "kick' balls make a great moving target to practice drawing on.
