New Beretta .22...what the Walther P22 should have been?

Just saw this in the American Rifleman. Looks like it will be a competent little plinker. And the magazine looks well designed. Imagine that!

That Beretta Neos is just another trip to the well for the old High Standard Duramatic design. It never worked awfully well for H-S, then Colt used it in their Colt 22 with little success, so now Beretta will have a crack at doing it with pizza and polymer.

The major problem is maintaining the proper balance between the recoil spring and the striker spring. Otherwise, the design is not bad.

I checked out the Neos models on display at the NRA meetings in Reno. The trigger pull was atrocious.:barf: I wasn't impressed with the gun's overall appearance (the all blue/black version appeared cheesy), but hey, its got a $200 price point so what the heck. The carbine kit coming in 2003 should be cool.
