Need to Strip a Glock Slide

I have a Glock 17 that I recently got that has some major slide wear (former sheriff's gun). So much so you can see the bare metal underneath. I am looking at stripping the slide in order to get it refinished in either Cerakote or possibly LWD.

What is the best chemical way to strip a Glock slide?

Let whoever is refinishing it do it.
Don't mess with it before hand, unless you are going to do the whole job, of course.
Then ask the manufacturer of what ever you will be using for the refinishing work for recommendations that are compatible with their product.

Yep. Just send em the slide and they will do it all. Ive had a bunch of guns refinished by Robbie at Robar.

As an aside the surface finish on a Glock slide is just that... A surface finish. Holster wear will rub that off but it has no effect on durability or corrosion resistance. Might be ugly but it still works. Kinda like the gun itself;)
