Need new finish for Rem 700P...

I recently picked up a new 700P in 308. I understand the purpose behind the all "Black Rifle" thing, but the finish on the 700P reminds me of popcorn ceiling plaster. It appears to be just about as durable. The finish on the fiberglass stock is even rougher and seems to be less durable. I'm looking for something that keeps the non-reflective finish but would have more class than the "black glop!". Any suggestions?

Bead-blasted boron carbide? Don't know how non-reflective boron carbide can get but should be an attractive finish if it's do-able.

Rustoleum BBQ BLACK worked for me on my L1A1 Klinton Sporter.
Action and forend were painted.
Let it DRY for a few days.
Knock off the sheen with 0000 steel wool, if you like.
It's tough paint and didn't burn or scratch off.
Best part is the cost of the tape and paint...cheap! :D
