Need help IDing BB rifle

Dad pulled out an old BB gun tonight and I'm hoping to figure out the make/model.

It's a wooden stock with a spring loaded barrel. The gun is loaded and cocked by depressing the barrel into the receiver then extending out.

Anyone know what this might be?? Mom even says she recalls having the same kind when they were kids.

There should be at least SOME sort of marking somewhere on it, showing a manufacturer, but if this was built in Japan, they may never have been exported to the US (Crosman, Daisy, and Sheridan had most of the market sewn up).

The gun is not Japanese. I am a Texan, in Texas visiting my folks (where's my sig line?!). My husband and I are stationed in Japan for a few years :)

There are no markings on this gun as far as I can find, which is very wierd (even the old shotgun we just finished has markings!). I have not begun disassembling it yet for a clean-up (I'm going to reblue and refinish it as well).
