There is a gun shop near me that is selling this gun powder at a discounted price because they are closing down. I've never used it, but I have limited knowledge of these powders and I need to make a decision on this deal asap.

What powders are good for .223 and .308 out of these options.

N540
N560
N140
N150
N160
N135

???

according to my Lee second edition(that you should own:))The 223 cal----v-n135,v-n133,v-n130 would be good for52gr- 55gr jacketed bullets..v-n540 would be good for 69gr-75gr jacketed bullets.. for 308---light 100gr bullets call for v-n135..155gr-185gr jacketed bullets bullets say v-n550...Don't take my word for it though check the factory reloading data for yourself.:DI have no idea what would be the most accurate with what combination and I could be wrong on my data too:(:)

The N140 is good for the 308 as well around 42.5 gr gives nice accuracy without knocking your shoulder off. The N160 is good for the 243 as well.
Very good powder, a lot of benchresters use it and it is lower cost. Buy it up while you can and see if any your buddys want it too. The N560 is real good in the 6.5 swede I use it in mine and it is great. Supposed to be easy on your barrel throat too, although I dont have evidence of it one way or another myself.:D

The VihtaVuori reloading manual, 2nd edition, recommends powders from N120 to N135 for the .223. They do list loads using the N135 and N140.

For the .308 they use all the powders you listed except N160 and N560.

The powders used varies with the bullet weight.
